off to the Arctic

Headed out tomorrow in my 170B to Arctic Alaska. I've worked for a lodge and air service up there for the past several years and this is the first year I'll be flying my plane up. I've flown up before in the past so no worries there, but would anyone have any updated info on Scoop Lake as to availability of fuel and camping for the night. I've emailed them but I'm not sure they'll respond my the time I depart tomorrow. This will be my first post here but I'll try and send some teaser picts of my adventures up there during the season.

Re: off to the Arctic

I was paranoid about fuel last year - Prince George is certainly not a problem and Watson Lake looks like they would not be a problem. In between, I would be nervous until I talked to someone that actually was supplying the fuel. Mackenzie supposedly is the place for fuel before heading up the trench.

I wish you good weather and good luck

FF
I heard that Darwin has been in to Scoop Lake, and is going to be hauling some supplies in.
He usually has some gas, but it is real expensive as he hauls it in in his 206!
Fort Ware Phone # is 250-471-2302 they usually have auto gas, I can't find Jordy's # to give him a call??
The folks at McKenzie are great, forget the gals name that does most of the running, but she's is great!!
Good Luck and good weather!

Headed to Bettles for the season. I've been in contact with Scoop Lake, they have fuel, $3.50 per litre. Shouldn't need it but it's nice to know in a pinch.
