Oregon Coast Grass Strips Sat.

My family and I are thinking of flying up to Lakeside and hiking to the dunes today. The coast will be windy but should be straight down most of the coastal airstrips. If anyone wants to join us, shoot me a pm or respond to this post and I will get in touch with you. We will probably be in the Lakeside area around 3pm but our plans our open.

Re: Oregon Coast Grass Strips Sat.

Thanks for the try. We did not end up going into lakeside......wish I had know you were coming over. Guess next time I will put my cell # in the post. Every telemarketer in the country seems to already have it so why not......
Flew my wife to Eugene today to do a little shopping for M. Day. Not really the back country experience but at least it involved burning a little avgas.

Are you out of Hobby Field or Eugene or...

Re: Oregon Coast Grass Strips Sat.

I had to put my plane back together before I could fly to Lakeside, and I wasn't sure how long it was going to take. That is why I didn't let you know ahead of time. It was #5 on the list of to do's and I didn't think I was going to get to it. I have a hanger at KEUG. Today was a work day for me so I am busy till Monday in the am, but the next time you come to Eugene, let me know and I will take you to dinner or whatever. Lakeside is a nice strip, I hear there are a couple good restaurants in town. Any reccomedations?

Re: Oregon Coast Grass Strips Sat.

Been awhile since I have eaten in lakeside. Seems the restaurants may have changed hands but I believe there is mexican and the marina if you walk down the main drag towards the lake. I cannot vouch for the food, but the experience should be great.....

How do you like your M5? We are looking for something a bit bigger than the pacer as the family is growing #-o . Considering a 235-260 maule or cessna 180-185.

Re: Oregon Coast Grass Strips Sat.

I like my Maule. It is very versatile. But like all things, sometimes I wish I had a 185, and other times I wish I had a Super cub. It does all things pretty well, and like most airplanes, the key to performance is the pilot, not the plane. I am getting ready for my annual, but after that, we can get together and go for a ride.

Thanks for the offer. I need to spend some time in a Maule to see what I think.
