Our area's topography is pretty spectacular in any direction. We have several mountain ranges, rivers, volcanos - you name it. It's pretty hard to get lost, since the ocean is not far to our West, and a line of famous and distinctive snowcapped volcanos -- the Cascades -- form a line North to South.
Several beautiful rivers flow from the Cascades to the Pacific ocean: the Klamath, the Illinois and the Rogue being chief among them.
Today, I followed the Illinois river as it winds through the Kalmiopsis Wilderness, eventually joining forces with the Rogue River.

Near where the Illinois and Rogue meet (Agness) I hooked up with another river: the Coquille. Following this river North took me to Powers, Oregon and its nice grass strip.

The grass on the strip gets pretty tall this time of year, but it wasn't too bad. I talked to Richard, a fellow who was out flying his model airplanes, took a nice walk down to the Coquille, and just enjoyed the beautiful day.
The camping area is mowed and looks better than ever. Time to head back home!
