Oshkosh J3 Accident

Is there any more information on who was in the fatal J3 crash into Lake Winnebago?

"Dive team members needed to be decontaminated because of the amount of fuel in the water."

Does this imply that they had lots of gas or that they over reacted to a pint of gas in the water. Never when diving in the navy did they wory about that sort of thing.

Re: Oshkosh J3 Accident

Soooooo, does anybody know the answer to the obvious question? Was it a full stall just above the water entry, or about 100 feet in the air? As a cub driver, I would like to know. I presume if it was at/near the sea plane base there were plenty of airplane/technique/landing aware pilots that witnessed the entry/crash.....? I know there may be just as many different opinions on what was done wrong..... :) , but the facts would be nice to know.
Any witnesses on here? Or Video? Or early factual report?

With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).
