Left the paint shop and flew back to KTRK were it was very "sporty" to say the least upon arrival. Nothing quit like NOT flying for the past 2 1/2 months and finding out you need to land in a wind that is changing its mind like a woman... Almost made a go around but end up settling in and then drying my hands offs on my pants...
Gusting 20 plus straight across the runway from both sides then up my tail and quartering from every direction. Oh how I love flying in the mountains. Needless to say I taxied to the hanger and put her away. BUT, I then found myself back at the hanger this evening burning gas and getting the new paint muddy and full of cow shit. Anyhow, went out to a few spots on my circuit. Wind was still blowing a bit but not bad. Just being back on the air and burning a lap on the North Circuit left me very satisfied.
Here she is. Out of the shop and back in the dirt only to find myself later on scrubbing her for an hour or so to get her back to pristine!
