It seems to me that there is a lack of overview or a calendar in regards to all these fly-in events. And much of the info is also geared at the terminally included bunch, rather than people of lesser intellectual capacity like me.
For instance, it took me about 2hrs after the fact to figure out that the Austin fly-in wasn't in Austin, TX, at all, but right here in my backyard. And I could have attended. I wished I'd known, but out of all the posts on the subject, none said it was in Nevada, and none specified the location. Is Austin a city in Nevada? The name of the airstrip? Who knows. There's also a lot of reference to the "SC.org" fly in, Caveman Ranch fly-in, but unless one knows what that is and what or has followed every thread on theses subjects since the start of time, then one is out of luck. I'd like to attend many of these fly-in's and campings, at least the one's in the western region, but the jargon/and lack basic info or overview keeps me on the outside or discovering them to late.
Has there ever been a thought of doing a plain calendar, where people like me who are not always here on this board can get an overview? A dream calendar would include all the fly-in's, the dates, the location and what is needed to attend.
