That's not a runway.... it's a backyard. Can't cut down a tree or two?
Anyway, I enjoyed the footage this morning. Pretty impressive.

Flying is dangerous. If you think otherwise, you are new at this sport. Mind the gravity not the gap.

I need to have someone give me a lesson in how to post a video without having to click on a link

Yes, I would like to remove a few trees but my wife likes the trees more then me

Impressive performance out of your plane. That landing at 90 deg to the shoreline on the river looked a little soft, but you've probably got some decent doughnuts on the axles. Umm, I've got a chainsaw I can lend you for an afternoon, might make the taxi at home base a little less stressful.

Greg, awesome video and skills!

For the video, it is a little confusing.

Awesome Greg,
What a GREAT way for me to start off the morning before I go to work, eating breakfast & watching your video :D
I'll be dreaming about flying all day. Feel free to post some more, there very uplifting. I'm solid IFR...fog fog fog. All day yesterday and starting off like that today. I'm vicariously living through your videos on days like this.
Thanks.............Sam

Wow I'll agree, that isn't an airstrip, it's a backyard! Nice footage of Cottonwood too, lots of fun places to land out there.

Greg,

I never really appreciated how tight your home strip was. A good video is worth more than a thousand words. Nice shot of your home --lights on and family waiting.

Thanks for sharing,

Chet

From a rookies point of view are you in chopper or a plane? That was freakin wild!! Love the spartan panel and toy yolk. I can only dream about that skill level, thanks for the post.

Looks nice and great flying too. You really built a beautiful home. What a great spot. Do you keep Bushwhacker there all of the time?

Re: Pacific NW on a sunny afternoon

We had been stuck in the fog here also, that day it did not burn off at the house until about 1. We are at 700 ft so when I departed it looked like we were sitting on a large island looking out farther all fog. I needed fuel and the only place not fogged in was Kelso, so that was perfect for me since it is 20 miles and right next to Cottonwood.

When I bought this property I had in the back of my mind that I could make a strip on it and still keep the trees, my wife was dead set against mowing down trees to build an airstrip. As I cleared the scrub from it with the Kabota it became easier to see that it could happen if I just took out one big maple and one doug fir. I did not ask for her permission to do that and boy was she pissed. I new that it would be better to just do it and beg for forgiveness (something learned after being married for 25 years). I was able to put the house where I wanted and convert an old pole barn into my hangar so now I have my shop, hangar and house all in one place. I would still love to have 600 ft of runway but that would take a lot of begging and rebuilding my hangar somewhere else so I work with what I have...

I did a long camp weekend on the Snake River 1st week of Jan. 2013 and will post some of that video soon.

Thanks for all the accolades.
