Took the final part of my private check ride. I had to discontinue on the first try due to wind. I fealt it was starting to go downhill quick before I discontinued that day, but the examiner said I was doing well. I have done almost all my training in class G airspace and had to do my check ride at MWH, in class D. It was about as busy day as I had ever seen at MWH. There were 5 C17's in the pattern, a 787, and some other big iron doing "high angle decent manuevers" what ever that is. It was also blowing 15 with gusts to 25. I threw in the towel.
So that was a few weeks ago. Since then the examiner went on vacation, the weather went to crap, and I went away for thanksgiving weekend.
Today it all worked out. All I had to do was a power on stall, and the three landings. No problem. I did this last part at KEAT. No controller on the radio, minimal air traffic, lots better than a few weeks ago at MWH. It was blowing 18 at a slight crosswind, but thats no problem, I am from Chelan, and I have gotten used to wind blowing. The whole thing took us .6, including taxiing and climb out.
So tomorrow I want to fly somewhere with my wife. I have to figure out a good place to grab a $100 taco, or some breakfast with in 40 minutes or so from S10.
My Champ is also coming along. Fuselage is painted, interior is in, gear is rebuilt, wings are getting close to being done. Pictures soon.
