Pineapple Express and Solstice (a friendly get together)

After leaving the pretty blue warm waters of the tropics and arriving in the Pacific Northwest, I have been in mild shock from the dark, rainy and cold weather. It takes me about (5) days to acclimate. Wearing long underwear, gloves and a headlamp I will re-commission my little ship. The R44 loves being flown and that’s the plan, even in cold dry conditions. I don’t fly in rain or falling snow, the blades are just too expensive.

Relatively “warm” air from Hawaii (AKA “Pineapple Express) has disappeared in the Cascade Mountains and heavy snow is falling.

The darkest Solar day arrives in (15) days. Old man winter will be knocking, Am I physically prepared? God I hope so…GoPro video to follow…
