Hello all, newbie here, first post. Stripped covering off right elevator, Piper J4E, obvious impact damage sustained at some point in the past. This, together with fairly serious corrosion, necessitates either a replacement unit or extensive cutting and welding. Unable to source any spares from the usual sources, e.g Univair, so am hoping for any guidance on locating a spare unit ( or a good repair shop in the north east) . Many thanks.J

Welcome. If you have access to a good tube and fabric guy, he can repair yours or fabricate one.

Something rusted out but still holding shape would help him for a pattern.

The J4 tail-feathers are made of Stainless Steel tubing, vs all the rest of pipers tube frames, hence the red headed step child of pipers. Go on J3-Cub.com and ask.
