Pirep on Airmark Overhaul for new engine?
Lycoming, Continental, Hartzell, McCauley, or any broad spectrum drive system component used on multiple type.
Anyone one ever use Airmark Overhaul for an engine overhaul? Also considering Zephyr and Signature.
Thanks!

I used signature for an overhaul on my io550. Very easy to deal with and engine is so far so good after 200hrs. Also , when the engine arrived the first time after overhaul it was all busted up from the shipping co doing what shipping companies do .We denied the shipment and it was sent back to signature . They did another complete overhaul and fixed it all up no questions asked . ....

I used Lycon for 3 overhauls and just used Zephyr for my Pponk with 8.5:1. Zephyrs build is first rate like other top shops, but their customer service and correspondence is just absolutely fantastic. I’ll continue to use Zephyr.

I had an Airmark overhauled engine on my first 185. Never had a single problem with it. Put 1000 hours on it and then the aircraft was utterly destroyed by hurricane Andrew. So it was super for 1,000 hours. Nice folks, their shop was not far from where I kept the aircraft. My buddies in Central America swore by their engines. This was some time ago, but I found them to be a premium shop.

Hey guys, Really appreciate the pipes!
Airmark has the best price, but not many Pireps on them. Dog Pilot, thanks for taking a moment and sharing. Sorry about the fate of your plane.

I would give Penn Yann a call, my buddy just had an engine done by them 6 months ago and he is very happy. Good price and they did not skimp on anything. Worth a call.

BTW, I have an O-470R.
FYI... called Penn Yan Aero. They were $36K and Victor was $39K. Penn Yan used CMI cylinders without any extra work other than gapping the rings. Victor completely reworks the cylinders to true them up and extends the warranty to 7 years. or $3K more I'd likely go with Victor if I were to spend the much.

Yep, I would go with Victor also for that price.

Nordic, I’m just curious, how much is Zephyr asking these days?

Zephyr quoted $30,500 with new Superior cylinders and another $1000 for a fully balanced bottom end.

I may be shopping for an O470R overhaul as well. Talked to Signature today and sounds like they are 27,900 with Millennium cylinders. If I go for an overhaul, I will probably use them since they are a 30 min car ride away.
