Sorry to hear about the helicopter pilot.

But, the plane from northern CA.......... "Lost power", lands and crashes through a fence at a athletic field and no fire?? Hmmm, I wonder how much fuel they found in the tanks or on the ground? Glad they walked away though.

Re: Plane crash near Albany, Oregon-two men die

From prelimary reports, it appears the airplane broke up in flight. Witnesses saw pieces of the plane falling from the sky possibly a wing. One of the men was a friend ours. "Tebo" and I took our commercial check rides about the same time last spring. Did some training and maneuvers together in prep for the testing. He was office manager at the local Lebanon FBO. He'll be missed.

I spoke with Tebo that morning before he flew. Very sad we lost him.

Re: Plane crash near Albany, Oregon

This was in our local paper. It appears the plane that "Tebo" was in when the wing came apart mid-air, was not an RV6. They are calling it homemade, I guess it would be a plans built? More information coming in all the time. We did not know the pilot or the plane, as he was based in Portland, about 80 miles from us.

Any crash is sad. I do not know the young fellow in the picture, but I want the same thing on my tomb stone.
If you can't see it it says. MY LIFE WAS SUCH A BLAST... NOW I AM FLYING WITH ANGLES.

If you look up the tail number, the builder is listed as DA and L McDaniel, model as a "RV-6-CH", s/n AC-3.
