Plans for skis

Does anyone know were I can get plans for skis. I have time but not money to buy skis. So I would like to build them. I am interested in fiberglass type. Thinking of a foam core covered with glass.
Thanks
Dave

Dave,
You could always copy my Datums, they are hanging on the wall doing me no good, you can borrow one and reverse engineer it. Just make sure I get it back when the snow flies

Re: Plans for skis

FoxDB,
You brought up a subject I was just contemplating myself. I recently picked up an S-7 and have already spent a LOT getting it up to speed and flyable. I'm up here in Northen MN and know that the white crap will be coming soon (actually had a sprinkling of it several days ago). I've also been thinking skis but definitely don't have the funds right now. Heck, the UPS guy just delivered the Tanis preheater kit to my door last night and I think that is the end of my airplane fun 'fund' for awhile.
I read the post Tom had last year on his new Datum skis and was impressed with them.
I do have a set od Federal 1500A's for my Champ but I already tried to see if they will fit and the Matco axles I just installed on the S-7 are too short to allow me to put these on without manufacturing sometype of internal spacer/nut. I have been thinking that I would like to try try and make something similar to the Datums that Tom has on his Courier. Keep us posted if you come up with something.
