Plastic bottoms

I want to put some UHMW on the bottom of my federal skis. I have the general idea. Use 3/16 go about 1.5 inches wider and countersink the screws. Stainless screws and lock nuts 8’s or 10’s? Not sure on the spacing? Every inch and half or so?Can anyone point me in the direction of a how to with some pictures?
Thanks

Re: Plastic bottoms

If you use stainless steel make sure you use anti-seize on each one or they will cold weld and you will have to snap them off if you need to change them. I cut my plastic oversize and use a router to just follow the edge of the metal and depending on base will give you a 2 inch lip. I do not have distance for screw spacing but most are WAY TOO CLOSE!!! along the long edge. I would consider starting with 3 inch spacing on the long edge runs 1.5 inch at the tips. Will try to get some better distance info tomorrow.

How far in from the edge of the metal do you think?
