Poll: 2011 BCP Hats

They're on the workbench as we speak...but my question for you guys is:

Structured or unstructured? The structured are Flexfit caps that have elastic all around the inside of the cap, with a forward area that is a little more firm and... "structured."

The unstructured use a buckle/strap closure on the back of the hat and are more deformable up front.

I can have both types made (do a 50/50 run), but curious who prefers what. I personally like the Flexfit, though it sometimes squeezes my huge head.

Click here to see the catalog (once it opens, click it once to make it show at full size.)

The hat illustration looks a little ridiculous, but you get the idea.

I think a southpark character would make the catalog page perfect

I'm normally old school but we got some flexfits made for a hockey team I'm on and they're good. (Maybe not if you've got a pinhead though!)

I'm partial to the unstructured. The structured with elastic ones just never seem to sit or fit correctly for me.

That's what I figured. I know several guys with the same story. I'll just do 50/50 and you guys can buy the style you like.

Re: Poll: 2011 BCP Hats

I like structured fits if and only if they're the right structure  (I hate it when the structure is too tall or steep angle from the bill)

Flex fits most often work out too, however, I have bought some lemons in the past where there is just too much fabric or slack in odd places.

Yeah, I am anal about hats. I have to try them on, then shape the bill for a month or more before I wear it

Follow up comment-

If the two hats you have listed are the "base model" for what you're going to do, I would do either one. The shape looks "correct" to me.

:!: :!: :!: I did notice, however, that both caps you have listed have the "button" on top, which would be a no-go with a headset :!: :!: :!:

Re: Poll: 2011 BCP Hats

I wear a small hat size (small brain needs less space) so it's hard to find a cap that fits good and doesn't look funny. I also like one that I can get a headset over. What some vendors call low profile works best for me.

If you had taken the time to look through the other apparel thread, you'd have seen a nice tutorial from TCJ on how to remove the button. ;) It's practically impossible to buy bulk hats without the button.

Yes. $5 extra I think. If you order it through the forthcoming store, you can select that option and supply your text.

Re: Poll: 2011 BCP Hats

Prefer unstructured as I can adjust the tension depending on what the wind is doing. Of course, that often leads to comments,... "Now there's a guy who wears his hat a notch too tight." #-o

Re: Poll: 2011 BCP Hats

Flexfit is FAR more comfortable to me. The difference is very noticeable for me. My advice is to make the hats a lighter color... I have a black flexfit hat and it gets pretty hot with sun on it of course.

Put me down for a couple of them whenever they're available.
