Fantastic. That makes me want to quit my job and go and do something similar with the Maule.
True old school adventure.

This follow-up post from WhiskeyMike over at SC.org makes the story even more cool. This is one well-traveled Cub!!!

That Super Cub has been everywhere! I bought it in England, and flew around Europe including down to the south tip of Italy at Reggio di Calabria. Then kept it in Rome for a while, then shipped it back to Steve Pierce's in Texas, Flew some banners to support Rick Perry, then back to my home, Beverly, Mass, then back to Lockhart TX where I sold it to Doug in the Pacific Northwest, who used it used as the test bed for the modified flaps. Then on to its present adventure. Before all that the plane started life in New York, then was shipped to the Naval Flying Club in Morocco, then to South Africa, and later to Australia, and finally to the UK where I bought it at Bagby, Yorkshire.

Holy crap! That's amazing! It needs a graphic on the fuse of a world map with the "hops" it has made since it was built! I can't wait to see the whole movie...
