Portland Trip

I am very excited, I will be flying to Portland on Friday to checkout a Super Cub in Hood River on Saturday. It has been too long since my little winter indecent, I am ready to get back in the game.
I have only flown one hour in the last 6 months (although it was a Stearman :D )it is killing me.
Now if it turns out to be a good buy I just have to some how get it home to Indiana. [-o<

Re: Portland Trip

I thought I might be able to give you a lift, but I don't fly into the towered big airport. I have flown into TTD Troutdale though. It is a nice flight down the Columbia River gorge.

Re: Portland Trip

I hope you have good luck Mongo.

I was mostly kidding about helping. I'm a low time pilot with all 250 hours in my Luscombe...not really the kind of guy you want flying your newly purchased cub.

Re: Portland Trip

there is an instructor a few miles downriver at Pearson that may be able to get you some cub time. They may be able to get you in touch with a gentleman that ferries aircraft around the U.S. Their number is;360-735-9445. Ask for Clu.

Re: Portland Trip

Yep I got the Cub I just don't have possession yet... and it is killing me

The former owners (great people)have offered to ferry it to Indy for me for cost, but not until after his harvest, towards the end of next month. I am looking for someone in the Hood River region who would ferry it, but they would have to be able to do it relatively soon or I will just wait.

I am ordering my 31" Bushwheels next week :D , I guess I will just float on them in the pool until the plane arrives.

180hp Exp. Supercub
84x42 porp
Extended Flaps (in and out)and tail feathers
Squared wings and tail feathers
3" extended gear

She gets of shorter with 2 big guys and full fuel than my 7GCBC would with just me and 1/4 tanks (hell and 10mph headwind) :D :D :D

Re: Portland Trip

These are pretty crappy pics but they are all I have.
The only thing I'm not to keen on is the cowl, which I will be returning back to a Supercub cowl.
