Possible NE Colorado Fly-in

All,
A few of us pilots at Wray, CO (2v5) were thinking about hosting a fly-in on the second to last weekend in October. We don't have many scenic views, but we do have a nice pavement and gravel runway with lots of open space around the airport. There is a rifle/pistol range, trap range, and golf course all within walking distance of the airport. Also since it is close to Halloween, it would be neat to have some sort of a Halloween activity. Maybe a pumpkin drop. Also we might do a breakfast and possibly a nice supper. (possibly as good as prime rib.)

Anyways, since we have never hosted one here, we wanted to see what kind of interest there would be and open it up for activity ideas. We would like to keep it pretty relaxed. After all, that is why we fly, to get away from the stresses and worries of the world.

So give me an idea if you are interested and any ideas for easy, fun activities.

Too far for me to come at this time.

Just reminded me of the best honey I ever ate. An older gentleman would show up in a white van, in West Texas every year, and sell me about 10 pounds :)

I always thought it was his bees.

Anyway, sorry for the creep.

Let me know if your interested in some fly out stuff. Our flat land is great for honing your STOL skills, so give me some good training scenarios and I'll find a cool spot to practice. We will get permission to camp on the field, or we've got a b and b in town if your SO doesn't want to camp.

I wouldn't mind grabbing a seat if you could swing into KFLY to pick me up maybe. Where are you at again, driving there to where you are might not be much shorter than just driving to Wray.

Re: Possible NE Colorado Fly-in

Sure wish I could go, but I won't be doing much flying until next summer cause I'm off at college now. I must say, I'm loving SLO, and Cal Poly is awesome! :D But it is weird not having a plane to fly...

Click on the link, right mouse click over the image and choose "copy image location" - quote my post below and you can see. You basically need a full link to the image jpg/gif or whatever. It's in the FAQ:

Great picture Bill!

I'd love to make it, I just need to work out the details (work/travel).

I think it's a great idea. A balloon pop would be fun too. Will there be a breakfast (or BYOB)?
