Potential vacation around the NW

My wife and I are thinking about a week long vacation in the plane we are hoping to buy. The trip would be something like Sept. 15-22. Here is a rough idea of what I am thinking: http://skyvector.com/?ll=44.15314448834471,-112.7640838647554&chart=301&zoom=2&plan=A.K1.KIDA:A.K1.8U2:A.K1.6S9:A.K1.S50:A.K1.S16:A.K1.3S7:A.K1.KPFC:A.K1.S39:A.K1.U82:A.K1.U79:A.K1.KIDA

Only places we sorta have to go are Auburn to see my brother and Prineville to see a friend. I'd like to hear your suggestions. Both kids will be along with us and plan to camp except when at my brothers place.

The airport at Hood River, OR, has a great airplane and car museum.

The Evergreen air museum and water park in McMinnville, Oregon. Let me know what day you will be in Pacific City I'll meet you. I'll be back from the Reno air Races on the 17th

Cheers

If I wanted to be in God's country I'd never leave Idaho. :D Actually I think a stop in your neck of the woods would be pretty cool.

Sounds good. My wife has been wanting to get to PC for several years so it is high priority. The water park in McMinnville would be cool too.

If you decide on a trip to Siskiyou Co. You should drop into Beagle on your way back up north........ Would be cool to see your new machine...

It is the best place in the country (except it is in Kalifornia) One of those rock chucks was eleven pounds.

Tillamook Air Museum is neat

Looks like your route goes right past McMinnville, I've heard that is good as well.

I'll second Hood River, the WAAAM is pretty cool.

That's the end of bow season but if I've stuck a toad before then it would be nice to shake your hand in Prineville. We're based there. I'm sure you'll update your trip here on BCP so I'll keep an eye out for your progress.

Re: Potential vacation around the NW

As usual my wife had something come up at work so we have to move the trip to a week earlier and make it shorter. Looks like 10th-15th and that's only if I get the rest of the phase 1 time on the plane; that is going to be tough to do by next Tuesday and it's not something I want to rush.

Hey qmdv, excuse my Central American ignorance (and I'm a hunter), do you eat those rock chucks?? Or only if you're REALLY hungry!?!?
