Power setting for a Beech D-50 T/Bonanza
Technical and practical discussion about specific aircraft types such as Cessna 180, Maule M7, et al. Please read and search carefully before posting, as many popular topics have already been discussed.
O.K. you old timers(I am 63!)
Who has the power setting for the Cont. 480, normally aspirated, geared engines on the Twin Bonanza? I have been asked to ferry one. Flew one once many moons ago. Speeds etc. not a problem. Just forgot the power settings for take off, approach, go around and cruise.
Thanks,
bob

Dude! I don't recommend posting your e-mail unless you want to sort through spam until the end of time.

I used to be more careful about that too, but the spam filter on Gmail is so effective that it just doesn't seem to matter anymore. Yahoo mail by comparison is pretty bad as spam filtering goes. The only consideration now is that many people use their email as a unique identifier or login, which you don't want compromised.

Thanks groundlooper,
So far I've come up with 3,400 rpm for T/O and 3,100 for climb. Less than 2,875 for cruise. By the way....my name is Bob.

This is the time when the peanut gallery should let you know all about getting dual from a competent instructor to school you in these matters. Probably should also drop by Idaho and get some mountain flying instruction in it while you're about.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I am hangared in a coorporate hangar. The guys next to me perform the only maintenance on the field. I've watched the guy who runs the place fly everything from a Piper Cub to a High Performance Twin in one day. Granted he's been doing it forever but it makes me think this flying thing may not be as hard as I used to make it out to be. I used to study my 172 POH for hours when I was a student pilot...

Flying will kill ya,
But yes...when one has been flying for 44 years and has over 31,000 hours, power settings are often all one needs.
And wouldn't you know it? All that info was in the Aircraft handbook. Duh?!? One more L-23/U8/Twin Bonanza....got ferried home.
Thanks guys,
Bob

Bob...I exhausted my Google-fu last night looking for a D50 flight handbook for you, but now I know... a free PDF version does not exist. Nice to know you have a hard copy.
