Powers, Oregon 2003
Get together with other pilots or enthusiasts. Plan it or get info about it here.
Labor Day 2003 my father and I, along with several other ultralight pilots from Grants Pass, flew a short distance to the Powers, Oregon grass strip for a weekend of camping and beach sorties. Here are the pics:

Looks like fun, any time you mix aircraft, friends and camping together. I can't wait to go out ice-fishing!!!

Seeing those pictures, I want an ultralight again. I bought a Flightstar in 1980 and sold it in 1992 with 400 hours on it. Then in 1995 I bought a Kolb and put 100 hours on it before it was sold. I gotta admit it's as much fun as any airplane.

I've done quite a bit of ultralight flying, and have also had my PPL for a few years now. I enjoy the coziness and protected cockpit of the Cessnas i fly, but there is nothing like the purity of flying open cockpit ultralights. True stick and rudder, no instruments, stall speed of 27mph(on the Quicksilver.) I think it not only makes me a better pilot but reminds me why I love flying.
