Private strip 9 miles SW of Clear Lake, CA

On my way home from Boonville (with a plane load of Anderson Valley Beer) Flew over a great strip on the ridgeline SW of clear lake. Had a hangar and gazebo. No house but a bunch of dirt trails leading to camping/RV sites on various overlooks.

I have no personal knowledge of this strip, and I'm basically a suspicious person to begin with. But based on what you describe and where it is, I wouldn't try landing there to find out more about it...That county has more that their fair share of professional chemists who freelance in the woods.

Nahhhh,

This is some sort of vacation property. You could tell from the layout this is a nice place, very well taken care of. It looks like it may have multiple ownership because there were some very high end RV's parked on some of the spots.

Not owned by a backwood chemist or jointly owned by RVers.

It is the private ranch of a friend of mine who lives in Santa Rosa. He built it in the last couple of years. He put a Sportsman 2+2 on its back there. He now owns a Top Cub. I've landed my Super Cub there, but you want to be pretty careful of the winds.
