Prop shop recommendations

Went for a flight with my daughter yesterday, beautiful day on the Colorado front range. Kind of spoiled the good feeling from the flight when I noticed a very fine red haze near the back of the spinner on the postflight. It's an old McCauley, last overhaul done a long time ago, so it doesn't really owe me anything. Anybody got pireps on a prop shop in Northern Colorado?

No idea about CO, but I have had great service from precision propeller in Boise. They do awesome work.

Re: Prop shop recommendations

Sorry, I can't help with a prop shop recommendation. Where do you base out of, and do you have a good mechanic in the area? We always used Bob Gates Aviation at the old Fort Collins downtown airport, but I think my dad's switched to a guy at Fort Collins/Loveland since the airport and BGA are no more. Anyway, good luck with the prop.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Fair price and good service. Bought my first prop from him for my Tundra and he pitched it for less than just the prop from the other places I checked.

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.
