There is no doubt that my nicest landings happen with a load - it just is much easier to use finesse when you're not having to hold constant back pressure in the first place. (on my plane, with just the front seats occupied, the nose up trim is maxed with plenty of additional elevator applied by "armstrong")!

I started taken taildragger lessons and i think the nose heavy 206 help me with the taildragger, but I know landing a taildragger certainly help landing the 206. With the winter survival stuff and general supply kit way in the back I suppose I have 100lbs back there which helps as well. 1500-1600 rpms seems to be my sweet spot but don't hesitate to adjust throttle. My downwind and the start of final are a bit higher than most 25-30 degree flaps can always go to 40 and slow it down more. kind of like coming in over 50' obstacal all the time and always a just a little bit of the stall horn before touch down. Each person does it a bit different for me I had to get the feel for it and still practice pratice practice. The local guys use to come out and watch all the time....but as the years past not so much, more to just give me a hard time .......I'm glad I can provide them a bit of entertainment![]()
