Push-Pull Cub
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
Interesting looking design-- looks like you could stand that one on it's nose & as long as it didn't go all the way over you wouldn't hurt anything too bad.. I don't know about the high thrust-line though-- application of power would drop the nose instead of raising it, might take some getting used to & even then might not be a good thing.
I can't tell from the photo but from the thread title this is an inline twin? I wonder if a plain old pusher might be better than a push-me/pull-you with the same total hp.

It is an inline twin. The rear engine is hidden by the wing in the picture. Power effects will certainly be there, but the level would have to be tested I guess. I do like that orange though.

i have ruined 6 Warp drive prop blades on an aircam going from mud to gravel during the takeoff roll with 29" ABW's. i don't think a pusher is a good bush plane.

Wow... might want to look into mounting some sort of mud guard or plastic ATV fenders on that AirCam ??.

...it has gone through quite a few more mods since it first came out.
What are those spears attached to the wing struts?

I don't know, but they're barbed so it must not be catch & release.
Seriously (ha! fat chance) maybe they're pitot tubes for accurate airspeed readings in undisturbed air?

It was an airspeed boom and a alpha/beta boom.

OK, I'll bite-- what's alpha-beta? (and don't tell me it's a grocery store chain!)

Alpha is angle of attack (in pitch axis), Beta would be the angle of "attack" in the yaw axis.
When you hear test pilots and engineers talking about "high alpha", that means flight at high angles of attack.

It is 2016. Anyone know where the development stands re the DoubleEnder? I recall reading somewhere of a possible 2016 introduction?

Was wondering if you have had a recent update on the Doubleender?

I don't, just that Alec and crew are working on their side-by-side design. I texted with him briefly today and he said they're close to test flying.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Thanks! Was hoping that the Doubleender was about to be available. Wonder why they paused on its development?

I found the DE an interesting exercise in thinking outside the box, but I wouldn't want one. Double the engine maintenance obviously, is forced to swing a (well, two) small dia. props) and there is no getting around the high thrust angle issues. KISS.
