Q's Photos

I would like to spotlight one of our members, Q, from Bend, Oregon. The guy has posted what I believe to be the best photos on the website in his user gallery. I have used a few in the random homepage marquee image section, but I didn't discover his recent uploads until tonight. All I can say is wow!!

I suspect that fact that Q flies a powered parachute allows him to fly past his subjects much slower  and therefore get these crisp shots. Just kidding, Q.

When you get a chance, take a look. These shots belong in a coffee table book. Thanks for sharing, Q.

Thanks for the good feedback on the photos. I’m working on my portfolio, picking up a batch of prints this afternoon. Eventually I hope to do a coffee table book but for now I’ll be trying to sell some large prints in local galleries and putting together some calendars for next fall. I’ve already sold quite a few photo CDs to other PPC pilots, and aerial photographs to nearby resort owners.

The camera I use is an Olympus C8080WZ, 8 megapixel with a high quality lens. 20 X 30 inch prints are doable with this camera.

Nothing beats a PPC for aerial photography. Nothing to block your view, goes real slow, can fly safely at very low altitude (1 foot) or high altitude (14,000 feet). Smooth, effortless and carefree flying with both hands free for working the camera.

Re: Q's Photos

This is a very old thread, 2005ish.

I don't know if Q is around anymore, but I got an email tonight titled "Central Oregon from the Air." It was an email forward containing many of Q's photos.

Funny.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Re: Q's Photos

Makes me miss my PPC. I have gotten some pretty nice shots of mine over the years. Q is a pretty hardcore PPC pilot as you can tell from his photos.

Great pics thanks for sharing. I like the POV pic that shows your boot, that's cool.
