Radio Frequency for off grid strips??

I found a few places around eastern MA to to land the plane and I got to wondering if there is a particular radio frequency that would be used when going into these backwoods strips that don't have any info published?? Is there a rule of thumb...or just make damn sure you've carefully checked the area before doing anything????

Thanks...
