I'm looking at a Rans S7 from the serial number it was produced in Sept 1995. It has been in a ground loop. The wing tip "bow" on the end is wrinkled up which should be reasonably easy to fix. I might even be able to bend it back. The wing will need a recover anyhow. However, there is a wrinkle in the leading edge spar between the fuselage and the strut attach point. Is the leading edge spar just an aluminum tube or is it one of Rans extruded D-cell variety? I think it's a tube but I wanted to ask because I figure someone on here might know. I plan to look at the plane this weekend or in the next few and that should help to see if the fuselage mounting points are tweaked too.
The wheel on the side the wing hit is bent but I don't know if it's just the axle mount or if it's in the tubular gear as well.
Anyone familiar with the older short tail S7 models that know of common issues after a ground loop to look for? I'm open for advice
Thanks,
Jay
