Re: Back to SOCAL

Are you stuck out there all the whole time? June can be 110+ in the shade out there, y'know. Methinks you need to spend a day in beautiful LA.

Hey FlapMan, the chances of me driving to LA are about as good as flying my M7 w/the EZ Flap STC this trip. Slim to none and Slim just left town. My job this trip leaves me free 90% of the time, good job EH!

So if you are out in the dez PM me. I got the killer house w/hot tub, pool, and AC. Plus a car. A La Coon AKA Lincoln.

Cheers...Rob

Re: Back to SOCAL

I'd offer to take you up in my Stinson, but I'll be leaving for a job offer in GA teaching in PA-18s this week.

If your in KUDD, David in Desert West has some rentals http://www.desertwestaviation.com/, if you want to get your tailwheel on Scott out of KTRM has a REALLY nice Citabria (just bring your own rig if you want to do aerobatics) http://www.flyjacksonair.com/. Outside of that there is a guy named Clark that does Stearman rides out of KPSP, only other advise is check out Pappy and Harriets in pioneer town for some good food, beer and music and enjoy the heat!

I feel like a link posting machine lol http://www.pappyandharriets.com/

It's a restaurant and bar with really good live music. The place was built in pioneer town where they used to film the old "spaghetti westerns" most of the sets are still standing behind, very cool place to spend a late afternoon.

Re: Back to SOCAL

Rob,
So far, the weather is looking good. Hope to be to KUDD mid morning Friday. If I can get away for a few from the family gathering, I'll look you up.

Re: Back to SOCAL

Will you need to get back or can you spend the night? There is a young eagles event @ L05 Kernville/Lakeisabella on the 11th, I could run down and pick you up and bring you back.

OK I got a car if you don't.

I just got here and really screwed the taxi driver and a stranger by accident. I walk up to the taxi stand and say I need to go to Palm Desert, the driver says something with a thick accent, I didn't get it but he grabs my bag and off we go. 10 minutes later his phone rings and it is the guy he was suppose to meet. Needless to say 2 out of 3 were pissed. :D Everywhere I have ridden in taxis if you see a line of cabs you wave they open the door. Pretty much what I did. DOH!
