This question has been asked ad nauseum in our forums. Members who have considered Cessna 170's have been told to look at Maules, Stinsons, early 180's, early 182's, Pacers, Scouts, etc.

Now find all the possible permutations of those combinations and shake the Boggle cube to see what the next thread will be that starts it all over again, and add 1 or 2 Super Cub supremacists to round out the fun. It's like that movie Groundhog Day.

We're pilots and we love to talk about aircraft types and how each model compares. That topic probably accounts for 90% of hangar flying. I'm not discouraging it, all I'm doing is making one request:

* Read all the other "What airplane is right for me?" threads before you post your own. I'll try to catalog them here when I get time. It's some interesting reading! (This will never happen... 6:20pm Sept 26, 2011.)

* Come to the discussion knowing what's already been discussed. Make a search, read this Types forum, whatever you can find.

* On the other side of the coin, if someone posts a question specifically about a certain type, do your best to answer their question instead of immediately suggesting th aircraft you think is right for them. Nothing is more frustrating that asking a question specifically about a Cessna 170/172/180/182 and getting 15 replies about how a Maule M7 will do the job better and cheaper. Every opinion about that topic has been expressed already, don't be the guy who derails the thread into a type battle...again.

* We're all lucky to even have airplanes, so let's keep it friendly and fun.
