The GO-480 is the only detraction as far as I can see ($$$)....but wow, I bet she performs! There's a Stinson in ANC that has a leading edge from Charly Center on it and an O-470....I've seen the flight test results... incredible!! I wish they'd have kept working on getting the STC approved!!

That is sweet. I'd love to talk to the builder about his plane. I have a homebuilt Stinson, that I've been working on for 5 ish years.
Lots of cool mods on that guys plane, and they are all mods that I have thought about, but didn't want to do, because I didn't want to take forever to build this plane.

Have as much Fun as is Safe, and Keep SMILIN! GT,
This is really cool! Couple years back I was working with a DAR to try and built a experimental Stinson. Would have been cool if it had worked out.

Is that the same allsworth that owns alaska aircraft engines? Which I believe also bought the o470 stc for the stinson?

Very cool aircraft.
It would be interesting to know how much difference those flaps make, being such a short span and a heavier aircraft than your typical Cub?
I would love to be able to afford to have Mr. Keller build a set for the Bearhawk, and see how they perform on a wider span. Maybe one day...

Matt that sure looks like an Allsworth machine, they have a few modified with big baggage doors and L/H rear cabin door like that one.

Have as much Fun as is Safe, and Keep SMILIN! GT,
Pretty awesome Stinson, someone put a helluva lotta work into it. I wonder if it's experimental - amateur built or experimental- exhibition?
There used to be a yellow and black Stinson (don't recall the dash number) in one of the open hangars at Auburn WA with an experimental placard on it. Other than squared-off tail feathers, it looked pretty stock. I did talk to the owner once & he told me the 165 Frank in it had car pistons or some such. Again, dunno if E-AB or E-exhibition.

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!
Really cool is that a back door on L/H side in flaps picture ? The GO-480 should be more than enough -I'd go for a IO-540 myself ,or maybe just a "O" .

Looks to me like they took the engine and prop straight off of a Helio H-295

This is one in my shop for annual...

I know the non-geared O-435 is considered kind of a boat anchor, but I wonder why Lycoming never produced a non-geared O-480. It would fill a hole between the 360 & the 540, and would be comparable to the iconic Continental 470.
What's the horsepower on the GO480-- 270 or so?

Isn't the 540 comparable to the 470? Very similar hps. 235 vs 230 for NA and both 260 for injected. Is there much of a hole to fill for a 480??
