That was good!


I read of someone visiting an airshow where a Spit made a fly by. Seems this person was walking toward the gate with a crowd up ahead and marveled that just a few people looked up as the throaty roar of the Merlin approached. Our generation stops and looks on with a lump in our throat, the sound unmistakable. Noise to some, music to us and the ferocious sound of hope, freedom, and victory some 70 years ago.

My dad was in the RAF and mom drove an ambulance in London during the bombings.
