I have an older Scott 3200 I removed from an aircraft I owned several years ago. I watched a video by Steve Pierce on rebuilding it and he showes only 3 springs on the inside attached to the thrust plate. This one has 5 springs. Are the 5 springs intended for heavier tailed aircraft?
I am wanting to install it on an experimental (1650 GW) and figured I would take it apart and replace any worn items. It actually looks to be in very good condition on the inside other than the bearings/races have very slight rust and pitting. Need to replace them and they are a Timken A4050/A4138 (bearing/race).
The seals are the older formed washers with felt on the inside. Anyone know the part number for the newer style seal they are now using? Airframes Alaska has a part number of 1863 but I'm not finding a cross refernce for it.
