Red’s Wallowa Horse Ranch

We spent a week at Red’s the beginning of June. Does anyone know if the runway has been mowed yet for the season?

Re: Red’s Wallowa Horse Ranch

I heard that last weekend it wasn't mowed. No more recent information.

Was thinking about heading out there tomorrow morning.

Hopefully someone chimes in with more current info.

Re: Red’s Wallowa Horse Ranch

A few years ago I flew in to JC with some buddies. I woke up to a BIG nose sniffing on my tent! OMG! My heart pounding. I poked my head out of my tent not knowing if that sound was looking for something tasty to eat.... Here is what entertained us that morning....

Well dang I cannot figure out to get my video posted. It tries to upload and nothing happens after it is 100% uploaded. oh well... Tried to delete my post and don't see how to do that either. No point in my post without my video. Must be user error.

I met up with the MMV boys there yesterday.

The grass is high, but the strip is in fine condition.

Good fishing and the wildflowers are in full bloom. It's definitely worth the trip.

Re: Red’s Wallowa Horse Ranch

I'm thinking of taking my boy camping at Reds this Saturday, July 7. Does any one know if its been mowed yet? How bad is the tall grass? Just want to make sure I can get my 170 back out sunday morning.

Thanks Ken

The grass was high but no problem. I met one of the caretakers and his said they were planning to mow this week. It usually gets mowed the week after 4th of July.

That's one lucky boy Ken. One of my many favorite places to fly and camp here in Oregon. Haven't made it out there yet this year. How was the fishing?
