Does anyone know if you can use the "experimental class" remote garmin gma 245R in the certified G3 touch? This is a great unit but still says for experimental class but would be interested to see if you can use it with the certified version. Looking to upgrade with the g3 touch for my 185 and would love to save the panel space with the new audio panel.

Usually there is a intentional software incompatibility between certified and non-certified devices. Of course the only way to check is get one and try it. Since this audio panel is remote, it is entirely dependent on the software in the G3 interfacing and recognizing the remote unit. Patience may be in order, as the certified unit for the G3 may be around the corner, just awaiting certification, right behind the 737Max.

I found the answer to my own question. The garmin gma 245R PMA has been STC'ed for the certified g3 thouch and should be shipping in 2-3 weeks. I am sure there are a few others who had this question as well.

If you go to Garmin's website they have an email address you can submit the question to directly. I've had good luck in the past with responses. Sometimes it takes a bit of time.
