Replacing Aft Carry Thru Spar U206F
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
Bit of a bum week with our project we learned we need to buy another prop, two new bladders and we have to replace the aft carry thru spar due to a crack.
The part number is 1211478-6 and I see a few places with it in stock new, 800 usd or so. Has anyone replaced one of these before? I've got a good sheet metal guy ready to start drilling once the part lands. What kind of shop hours are we looking at? I'm guessing 2 days should remove and refit it.

I just finished replacing one on my P206. No one had one in stock for me, and Cessna couldn't even get me a quote. So one got built by my structures guy.
I de riveted and pulled the old one out myself. Then he did most of the install himself, just needed my help for bucking the rivers though the ceiling. He already had the rear door posts match drilled and riveted with hylocks.
If you can get the part for yours, I'd say you are looking at around 10-15hrs labour or less if you are both working at it.
