Even that's changing fast. All the old airstrips are being abandoned and new multi-million dollar beauties built to accommodate the 1900's, and broadband internet is now the norm in all the villages. Everybody has a frigging credit card machine.
Though... Good old cash still rules on the ramps in the bush. Amazing what some locals will part with for $20 if they need booze or dope money.

ASW & Backcountry Pilots,
I just bought a new 4 man, 4 season mountain tent from Cabelas. This August I plan on hunting caribou on the North Slope with my Maule and don't want to rely on my cheap-ass Eurka tent in the wind.

Best expedition tent on the planet: North Face VE 24/25. I've sat out some ugly weather in mine, and it's waaaaayyyy old now. Great tent.
