Re: Robert Odegaard's "Tribute to Bob Hoover"

Oops, sorry. Here's the page on the Duggy site where you'll find a bio on Robert: http://www.duggy.com/DUGGY2010/Mission.html As the site points out, Robert holds a type rating for "All single and multi engine piston powered aircraft". Those are no longer issued by the FAA.

If you poke around on that site, you'll find a photo of Bob Hoover autographing the interior of Duggy, by the way.

Flying is dangerous. If you think otherwise, you are new at this sport. Mind the gravity not the gap.

Thanks MTV,

Enjoyed the video and the site. Never had the opportunity to see Mr Odegaard fly, but i remember seeing Mr Hoover's routine many times in my younger days, always a highlight.

Just a thought.

I donno, took the Anchorage FSDO almost 3 months to approve 8.50 tires this spring, not much to like about that  His reason was that he "was too busy writing up the air taxi guys" not much to like about that either #-o

Terrible news regarding Robert Odegaard.....http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/a ... /homepage/

Robert was killed in his beloved Super Corsair, Race 74, while practicing for the Valley City Airshow, which was to take place tomorrow. The airshow has been cancelled.

I am still in shock over the news, I just talked to Bob on Saturday, he was as nice as always.

God speed.

Robert was a true class act.....a gentleman and a superb pilot. This last Wednesday he showed us a video of their recent "airshow" for President George HW Bush at Kennibunkport, ME in honor of his birthday.

First we lost Gerry Beck, now Robert. But both at least were doing what they loved.

Re: Robert Odegaard's "Tribute to Bob Hoover"

Wow, just read about Mr. Odegaard's death. I saw his routine at Oshkosh, brought back wonderful memories of Mr. Hoover's routine at Reno, roughly 1988. I told my kids about seeing the Hoover act, how special it was and what a treat it was to see the tribute flight.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Odegaard, blue skies, tailwinds and perfect airplanes forever!
