Rotec radials
Lycoming, Continental, Hartzell, McCauley, or any broad spectrum drive system component used on multiple type.

Anyone have any experience with the Rotec radials out of Australia? They seem like great little radials for LSA.

they have not been real stellar.. There are a few Kitfoxes using them. Look cool as hell, but not very practical and pretty heavy for the HP.

Yeah, I was wondering. I love radials(have 3 radial powered airplanes), but was wondering how good they were.

A new-ish guy at my airport built a Kitfox (7?) with a Rotec. Looked cool (kinda like a Warner-powered Monocoupe) but didn't really sound like a radial. Engine was heavy, plus it had issues:
1) rocker arm cap or something came loose, hit and bent valve cover, oil leak.
2) Rotec came out with a SB to replace all the cylinder base studs with one size bigger, had to tear all the cylinders off.
3) carburation issues, never did seem to get it sorted out.
He sold it to a guy that came & trailered it off. Apparently that guy got the carb issues squared away & is happily flying it off a cornfield airstrip in the midwest somewhere.

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!
I guess it's not such a great engine, huh? I prefer the original radials anyway. Nothing like a beautiful R985!!
