Is it the 102 series? Just curious.

Tom, will that work with the Warp HP hub?

I would also so suggest a larger diameter balance tube between the carbs. Hal can take care of that for you too. Pretty simple, quick, and inexpensive. It will let you comfortably reduce the idle, making your landings shorter without such aggressive breaking and shutdowns less violent. My static idle now is around 1000rpm.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

This makes lots of sense to me actually. In LSRM school we had to synchronize at 2100-2200 RPM in order to get them to idle smooth even at 1400RPM. If we balanced at 1400RPM we get the shakes at cruise speeds. It was obvious something wasn't right.

Re: S7LS coming to a hangar near me.

Since I started this year's ski flying 2 days ago, (5 hours so far) I noticed a big advantage of the large cross over tube: when I do my runup and taxi to the start of my ramp, and then transition to skis, the low idle now attainable means I don't start creeping forward before the skis are fully transitioned.

Not sure about fitting the Warp hub, doesn't matter as they come with hardware and the hub.

PM'd you 701

Well, here's my airplane sitting in my hangar. I had my first hour today in gusty bumpy conditions. The bloke in the picture is Reggie Paulk from Winter Park Colorado. He's got a S7LS two serial numbers away from mine. The insurance company insisted that I have it flown home by a CFI with 25 make and model. I told them the son of a bitch didn't exist but I finally found one. He's a good guy. I'm an airplane owner again. It's a cool little beast but does not fly like a Mooney in heavy chop that's for sure. I'm happy. Dig them big tires man! Trent Palmer, eat your heart out.

Boy what an ordeal. I closed on it Feb. 12 and got it home April 17. I flew it last evening at Stead then this morning we flew a few circuits at Stead then took off for Nervino where the wind was more up and down the runway and finished up my check out. The main runway at Stead (8/26) is closed until September for re-surfacing.
