Safety Seminar-Central WA-Sat Jan 29

Most of us in the PNW received this as an email. This is just a good solid BUMP for the Flying Farmers and their yearly Safety seminar.

Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process... :)
With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).
Success has many fathers...... Failure is an orphan.

An additional comment is that even tho this is a towered (class D) 'International' airport, on the weekend usually there is almost no traffic and the controllers are used to international pilots and flight training pilots from the CC-so they are the very patient variety or they would be in the looney bin.
So dust off your radios, folks, and come see 'acres and acres of runways' (It used to be Larson AFB with B-52s......)
Just remember 'Don't flair high'.......:-)....and you can log taxi time.

If you fly in to MWH (Grant Co. Intl.), you can taxi tight up to the seminar building.
As mentioned before MWH is tower controlled. If there is anyone who wants to fly in but is not radio equipped, or radio proficient, or has hearing issues with a bad speaker in their aircraft, or their aircraft 'gets skittish'/doesn't care for 'acres n' acres of concrete'-PM me, or call the above information phone number, and transportation can be arranged from Moses Lake Muni (W20) to the seminar, and back to muni afterwords.

Remember this seminar counts towards the FAA 'Wings' program.

Alright, this is a 'bump', but a good offer, too........

I attended that safety seminar a couple of times at the invitation of one of the flying farmers. Back in the 1950's the International Flying Farmers was apparently a huge organization, it's tragic that it is now a shadow of its former self.

It was worth going there for the safety seminar, but the highlight was going out to lunch with a bunch of cantankerous old geezers, while they ripped on everything from the president to the FAA, and told grandiose stories about flying around the country and down into South America back before everything got regulated to death. The golden age of aviation was a direct result of pilots like these and their passion for life. Go meet them while you still can. You might even get some invitations to visit some of their farm strips!

Where is this at? I'm unfamiliar with the area. I'm going to be in Yakima tomorrow afternoon for an interview on Friday, and I'm not departing the area until Sunday afternoon.

It's in Moses Lake, which is NE of Yakima. It's about a 100 mile drive. Head north on the freeway to Ellensburg, then east on I-90 to Moses Lake. The airport is north of town.
