Save the Boulder, CO Airport

Various groups trying to shut down the Boulder airport. Local groups, AOPA, and FAA are fighting to keep it. There’s no real path forward towards shutting it down but they’re trying everything. Pro-airport people are citing various reasons such as its use in fighting the local fires, flight training, etc, but really I just want it to stay open because I live there part time and want to have a close airport. Anyway, there’s a petition to sign if you want to. Petitions do very little except show support in a quantifiable way. The anti-airport side also has a petition if you’re more into that.

I received my instrument, commercial, multi, tailwheel, complex, CFI, masters degree, got my first flying job, and hangared all 4 of my planes in Boulder. Lived there full time for 10 years and loved every bit of the town, airport, and people. Unfortunately everyone loves Boulder so the land the airport is on is worth significantly more if it wasn’t an airport.

Negative commentary on this thread about Boulder does nothing so please don’t.

Re: Save the Boulder, CO Airport

Make the people individually who are trying to shut it down liable for fire damage

Have all the small aviation business start filing lawsuits on the individuals behind the attempt at shutting it down

That would probably work better than trying to negotiate with these types of petition letters they don’t read
