Like many of us, flying is one of the greatest pleasures in my life; backcountry flying is the carrot making all the stick beating worthwhile. When I get to Schafer (as I have many, many times) I do so for relief to enjoy myself, away from the kind of stresses we find at home. Professional search or not, this behavior is bitterly disappointing! A ramp check of small back-country aircraft by armed agents of the government at Schafers seems completely unnecessary and, for me, would certainly destroy a trip I probably couldn't wait to go on. Aren't there higher priority targets for them than guys hauling jetboils, lawn chairs, fishing poles, and sleeping sleeping bags.
This one really got to me.... and I have a huge respect for folks who wear uniforms with our flag on them.
