Scott 3400 Steering Arm Tension?
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
Trying to get 5 lbs. of steering arm tension. Not getting it. I mic'ed the lower fiber washer thickness and it is 0.042". The ABI PMA'ed replacement is 0.062" (p/n 3408-2). If install the thicker lower washer will it increase the steering arm tension?

I've never tried to adjust the tailwheel to any particular "pounds of tension" criteria.
I thoroughly grease all the internal parts when assembling.
Then I tighten the king pin nut until snug, back it off one flat, and safety it.
Works perfectly.
This is with two of the p/n 3407 spacers under the big bearing on the top of the fork.

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!
The Skywagon Club "manual" has an article discussing attaching a scale and measuring 5 - 6 lbs of pull force after tightening the castle nut on the bottom 75-100 in-lbs and backing off to first cotter pin hole.
