Brian,

Have you considered listing here too?

http://www.seaplaneforum.com/

It is amazing that I missed getting to Lake Pierce and Cherry Pocket this year. I will be back home and on wheel skis next week.

Frankly, I will always remember how much fun you made the seaplane experience. I hope you get someone with your knack for fun and skill.

I will list it there also Gary, I was looking for your cub this winter. I have been flying my cub in FL this winter and finding some interesting places to land. I may even put floats on it also.

Re: Seaplane Pilot - Instuctor Position Open

Thanks for posting. I am sure it will be filled by then, but heading to AK to get bush and seaplane training - then I hope to put my CFI/CFII/MEI to real use on floats! Not often CFI on float jobs are posted.

I am going to see if I can make it over to Adventure Seaplanes this summer when I am back to Eagle River, WI for a family reunion and get some additional time.

Just got my SPA membership in the mail also!

Cheers

Re: Seaplane Pilot - Instuctor Position Open

Travis - I have had some very experienced sea pilots helping me in FL, but i may even train a sea instructor for our MN operation. My recomendation though is to train where you want to possibly work at so you alraedy have some experience there. For basic SES ratings you don't need to have loads of experience, like at Browns se base in FL, they train from within and do a good job at it for basic SES training. I have done that with my instructors also, my last instructor did over 2000 hours on floats with me and will still help out part time. You can get Bush training lots of places, we have great bushflying places in MN, WI, and Canada, heck i can take you to some great places in FL also where only the airboats go, and my Cub on Bushwheels, In fact i need to clean it up after the last outing!

How long is your season here in Florida? I live in Lakeland and am a CFI/CFII/MEI with my ASES.

Hey Brian-

Much as I know you want to give me the job, I'm gonna practice a few more years, before I wow your students with my mad skills.

Also, I got a set of near mint PK's for sale up there at Lino Lakes, for you, I'd make a heck of a deal. Seriously let me know if you know someone whod be interested. I've got a new set of Aerocets with my name on 'em.

See you in May in MN.

Re: Seaplane Pilot - Instuctor Position Open

My Florida season is november - april for SES training, i could use someone in MN only and have someone different next winter in FL. I have not hired anyone yet for MN, i would like someone with some tailwheel experience and some float time, but i could train someone also for SES training and sightseeing rides.
Brad - Could you handle this much fun?? Are you ready to race my 180 off the water with both on Aerocets??

Re: Seaplane Pilot - Instuctor Position Open

Sounds fun to me! Tax man just cut into my SES training budget significantly, maybe after Oshkosh a visit to Lino will be in order since AK is no longer going to be possible.

Damn. Wish you were in FL longer. This would be perfect for me if you were here a little bit longer. I would love to get in that supercub of yours and all your floatplanes.

Re: Seaplane Pilot - Instuctor Position Open

Singlespeed - you can save $$ flying with us and have a future solo rental option plus even CFI work when you get a few hours, i trained my last full time instructor and he flew 2000 +- float and another 500-1000 wheel hours in 5 years with us, he is still flying part time with us also and a full time 135 job.
W- Man- I may have a full time plane in Florida if i have someone responsible who wants to fly it and help take care of it. I just don't want to be having to fly down to FL to fix little problems, i have a guy wanting to partner on a plane with me and have it in FL for training and solo rentals. Are you willing to drive to Cherry Pocket about 40 minutes away to be a responsible float CFI??

Re: Seaplane Pilot - Instuctor Position Open

185,

I've been talking to Brown's Seaplane Base and may be taking on a role as a full-time CFI there. I will know for sure this Monday. If that doesn't happen, or I will have enough time on the sides, I will let you know because I would be more than happy to teach and take care of a plane for you.
