Seaplane Prop?
Lycoming, Continental, Hartzell, McCauley, or any broad spectrum drive system component used on multiple type.
Hi, I was wondering if anyone on here has installed a Mccauley 8042 prop on a C-172. I have a K model that I'm putting 8.50's on, so prop clearance shouldn't be an issue. Is it difficult to get this field approved for a plane that is on wheels still? How about the benefits, as far as climb performance vs re-pitching the 76 inch prop to a climb pitch.
Thanks,
Bob

Sealand Aviation in Campbell River has a limited Canadian stc to put an 80x46 sea plane prop on a 172 land plane. I think it used a Cessna heavy duty fork and a 600x6 nose wheel.
