Searching for Fossett with Google Earth

Are you bored? Want to help search endless square miles of Nevada desert from the comfort of your office chair? Amazon.com and Google Earth have what you need.

Utilize updated satellite imagery, Google Earth, and Amazon Mechanical Turk to be delegated a search area to pore over instead of watching TV tonight.

Go here and follow the directions.

Basically, you load the .kml url into Google Earth, then copy/paste the Lat-Long into the Fly-To field and hit enter. Then, zoom around and look really hard.

Keep in mind that a stock installation of Google Earth will not suffice, as the satellite imagery is often months or years old. You have to load the kml file to get the most updates images.
