Re: Sept 26-27 East Side Fly-In

Thanks for posting this, John. I had the dates and nothing else, and was starting to wonder if I just dreamed up this event. Times work out great - Lee Bottom on Friday, leave there after lunch on Sat. for OH82, back home on Sunday. Looking forward to it!

What's the frequency?

Dam, October would've been better...I'll try again next year. Was looking forward to meeting the crew. Got a scout (thats Boy Scout, John  ) function to attend so at least I'll still be camping...

Re: Sept 26-27 East Side Fly-In

Hi John, nope, didn't go to Alaska, that's just another one of my harebrained ideas that I thought sounded like fun at the time. I did go to Oshkosh, though, and ran into a few SC.orgers.

Let's hope for better weather for your fly-in than what we have now. My poor dog's bladder is swelling, but he won't go out because he doesn't like thunderstorms. Ah, the choices we're forced to make...

See you in a month!

Anne.

John, My partner and I have tried to make it out to the fly-in for two years now but weather bit us both times. We are bound and determined to make it this year! Light the signal fires!

Hey, it is a go, rain or shine. I see the poster only says the 26th. We are planning a full two days, so if too wet Sat, try Sun. We have some fly-outs planned that should prove to be interesting for most pilots. There are some optional "hair" strips to do too, if you are so inclined.

The hog is on his last days. He will be ready at 3:00 Sat. The 13 bean soup will be ready then also.

Coshocton (I40), has the cheapest gas in the state, and that is 10 miles from here. Saturday's fly-out lunch will most likely be at Coshocton's airport grill.

Greg Swingle has a lot of new, unseen video that he is premièring Sat night.

hope to see some of you again,
John

Re: Sept 26-27 East Side Fly-In

Saturday was a wash out. We had a total of 3 inches of rain Saturday and Saturday night. Bill and Yvette Tracy were here Friday night. No one else with airplanes came in until Sunday. We did have lots of drive ins and they all enjoyed Greg’s movies. Sunday, the first airplane to arrive was Todd Reed, who showed up in a pretty Husky, all the way from Indiana in low viz. The highlight was when Brent Phillips blasted through in his Super Chipmunk. Small group, but we still had fun with bomb drops and spot landings, etc.
