Re: SES

Passed my checkride today! Had to cancel tuesday because DLH was fogged in.

Now the search for another plane starts...

Re: SES

I normally wear my Mustang PFD over my flying vest ( aka fly-fishing vest). That way I can have some essentials if I have to part company with my plane in the water.

The full vests are really hot, but this may not be an issue in your area.

By the way, water egress training is something to think about.

Re: SES

Good going L-19, it seems DLH is always fogged in. That is where I usually cleared Customs coming back into the US and was the tipping point for getting the instrument rating.

Are there ever any egress courses in Mn? I think it would be a great idea to go through the training, but have not ever heard of one, within driving range. There are enough seaplane pilots on the forum from Mn, to fill a course, I would think. Steve

Re: SES

That would be a great location, but the problems is, I have to go south in April-May for planting, so the timing may not work. Thanks for the mention Garth. Steve

Re: SES

Congrats on the seaplane rating. Very practical the farther north you go and lots of fun too. May all your back country strips be wet. Keep the nose up. :)
