Shaniko Ranch 9OR1

Does anyone know anything about this private airstrip? It is within walking distance of the old "ghost town" of Shaniko oregon and I would like to land there and walk into town. The ranch is presently for sale and none of the phone numbers for the previous owner are working. The phone numbers in Airnav are both disconnected. I would like to get a hold of someone who might give permission to land.

I thought it had an "X" last time I flew over it. Is that still there?

Re: Shaniko Ranch 9OR1

I never could get a hold of the owners but did talk to some local flyers and found out the ranch is for sale now. It was/is owned by a hunting club and they have never allowed anyone to land on the strip, not even members. The runway does have an "X" on it, but looks to be in good shape. So for now no landing permission. Maybe when it sells the new owners may be more friendly and we can try again for permission.
